Planning a Wedding in Nosara: What Different Investment Levels Can Create

One of the first questions couples ask us is: what does a destination wedding in Nosara actually cost?

There is no single answer. A wedding weekend in Nosara can take many forms, and the final investment is shaped by guest count, venue, number of events, food and beverage, design, entertainment, transportation, production, lodging, and the overall level of hospitality you want to create.

What changes most as the budget grows is not simply the amount of decor or the price of the menu. It is how much of the entire destination experience you are able to host, personalize, and take off your guests' plates.

The ranges below are not packages or quotations. They are simply a realistic look at what different levels of investment can make possible for a destination wedding in Nosara, based on the weddings and wedding weekends we plan here.

Under $100,000

A beautiful destination wedding, thoughtfully prioritized

A wedding under $100,000 can still feel polished, personal, and incredibly special. At this level, the key is knowing where to invest and where to let Nosara itself do some of the work.

The experience can still unfold across several days, but the hosted portion is typically concentrated around the most important moments: a thoughtful welcome gathering and the wedding day itself.

Guests may stay across a range of hotels and vacation homes that fit their own preferences and budgets, and they will typically arrange or pay for their own airport transfers.

The weekend might begin with a welcoming gathering with a distinctly Costa Rican feel: great local food, an easy atmosphere, and a chance for everyone to settle into Nosara together.

The wedding day itself generally follows a more traditional flow, with a ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. Food and beverage can be very well done while staying within a mid-range selection, with lively music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and a DJ carrying the celebration into the evening.

Photography and videography can cover both the welcome event and wedding day. Printed goods and signage are well appointed, florals are beautiful but intentionally scaled, and the overall design feels cohesive without relying on large installations or extensive production.

We can also help build experiences into the days around the wedding, such as surfing, wellness, fishing, boat days, dinners, or other local activities. At this level, those experiences are often coordinated for guests to opt into and enjoy together, while the cost is covered individually rather than hosted by the couple.

Full-service planning and professional event staffing remain at the center of the experience. The result is not a stripped-down wedding. It is a well-planned, multi-day destination celebration where the budget is focused on the moments that matter most.

$100,000 to $350,000

A more immersive wedding week

At this level, the experience begins to extend more intentionally across several days.

In addition to the welcome gathering and wedding day, couples have more room to create additional hosted moments throughout the week: perhaps a beach day, sunset gathering, recovery brunch, private dinner, wellness experience, or another event that brings guests together in a way that feels natural to Nosara.

Hospitality becomes more personal. Welcome gifts, custom favors, thoughtful room touches, and other details can be layered into the guest experience. Photography and videography may extend across more of the week, and dedicated content creation can be added to capture the moments that happen beyond the formal events.

Design and production also become more developed. Florals can carry across multiple events, lighting and sound can play a larger role, rentals and furnishings can become more customized, and an after-party can feel like its own experience rather than simply the final hours of the reception.

Guest movement throughout the week can also be more fully coordinated, with airport transfers, event transportation, and scheduled shuttles built into the broader hospitality plan. The goal is not simply to move people from place to place, but to make the entire experience feel easy, connected, and considered from arrival through departure.

At this level, the wedding week begins to feel less like a collection of individual events and more like one cohesive destination experience.

$350,000 and above

A fully hosted, high-touch destination experience

At $350,000 and above, the wedding is no longer simply a series of multi-day events. The entire stay can be designed as one continuous guest experience.

Couples may choose a full buyout of a top-tier hotel or property, creating a private home base for the celebration and giving guests a greater sense of ease, connection, and immersion throughout the week.

Transportation can become nearly effortless, with elevated airport transfers, private shuttle systems, and transportation coordinated across the full stay. The experience begins to feel much closer to: book your international flight and we will take care of the rest.

The itinerary can expand across additional days with hosted gatherings, dinners, wellness experiences, beach events, private excursions, and unexpected moments built into the flow of the week.

Entertainment can be layered throughout the celebration rather than reserved for the wedding reception. Live performers, specialty musicians, DJs, and other elevated entertainment can appear across multiple events.

Production also becomes significantly more sophisticated. Premium lighting and sound, cooling systems, expanded floral installations, custom-built elements, more complex venue transformations, and larger production teams can all become part of the experience.

But what often defines this level is not a single oversized element. It is the accumulation of thoughtful, unexpected touchpoints throughout the week.

A personalized gift waiting in a room. A perfectly timed surprise performance. A beautiful transition from one setting to the next. Transportation arriving before anyone thinks to ask. Florals and design carrying through multiple days in a way that makes the entire celebration feel connected.

At this level, guests are not simply attending a wedding in Nosara. They are being hosted through a highly considered destination experience from arrival through departure.

Where should you begin?

The right wedding budget is not about reaching a particular number. It is about deciding what you want the experience to feel like and where you want to place the greatest value.

Some couples care most about food and music. Others want to create an extraordinary guest journey across several days. Some prioritize design; others would rather spend on experiences, transportation, or bringing everyone together in one place.

Our role is to help you understand what is realistic in Nosara, where your investment will have the greatest impact, and how to build a celebration that feels considered from beginning to end.
