Frequently asked questions about weddings in Nosara, Costa Rica

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Weddings Nosara is the first and longest-standing wedding planning company in Nosara, Costa Rica — full-service destination wedding planning, design, and production since 2011, led by Stacie Brown, who lives in Nosara year-round.

Where do you plan weddings in Costa Rica?

We plan weddings throughout Nosara and along the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste, from beachfront and jungle-hilltop villas to boutique hotels, and in nearby Santa Teresa. We have worked this coast since 2011, so we know its venues, vendors, and rhythms intimately.

How far in advance should we start planning?

Most couples reach out 12 to 18 months ahead. We take a limited number of weddings each season so every celebration has our full attention, and the best venues and vendors book early, so the sooner you begin, the more open the possibilities. That said, don't hesitate to reach out if you're planning on a shorter timeline. We're always happy to explore what may still be possible.

Can we legally get married in Costa Rica?

Yes. Getting legally married in Costa Rica is very manageable, and we can help guide you through the process and required paperwork. Some couples choose to make it legal here, while others prefer to complete the legal step at home and have a symbolic ceremony in Nosara. Either option works beautifully, and we will help you choose the path that feels most aligned for you.

How many guests can a Nosara wedding have?

Everything from an intimate elopement to a celebration of up to 120 guests. We match you with a venue that fits your guest count and the experience you're envisioning, then shape the celebration around it.

What does Weddings Nosara handle?

All of it. Venue selection, budget guidance, design and styling, vendor management, lodging guidance, transportation, tours and guest experiences, the full wedding week, timeline and production, and on-the-day execution. Our role is to make the entire experience feel seamless for you and your guests.

Do you help our guests with travel and transport?

Yes. We help your guests with accommodations, airport transfers, and activities, and we send everyone a simple travel form so we can coordinate their arrivals, stays, and transport, so they feel cared for from the moment they land.

What does a Nosara wedding cost?

Every wedding is different, so cost depends on your guest count, venue, and the scope you choose. We build a clear, honest budget from the very start and show you where to invest for impact and where to save, so there are no surprises, only good decisions.

Why get married in Nosara?

Nosara is where the jungle meets the Pacific, wild, warm, and quietly luxurious. It rewards couples who want more than a single day: a whole weekend in a place that feels alive. And as the area's first and longest-standing planners, we know how to make the most of it.

Do you work with couples who do not live in Costa Rica?

Yes. In fact, almost all of our couples live outside Costa Rica, and some have never visited Nosara before beginning the planning process. Because we are based here year-round and deeply rooted in the local community, we are able to guide the process from the ground and make planning from afar feel seamless. From venues and vendors to logistics, guest experience and everything in between, we have you covered.

Can outside planners work with Weddings Nosara?

Yes. We welcome aligned partnerships and can serve as the local, on-the-ground expert for planners and creative teams from outside Costa Rica, supporting local vendors, logistics, production, and execution.

How do we start?

Click "Work With Us" at the top of the page and share a little information about the two of you, your wedding and what you are envisioning. From there, we will set up a video call to get to know each other and talk through the experience. We take on a select number of weddings each year, so that first conversation is also about making sure it feels like the right fit on both sides.
